Take 1 is a leading transcription company delivering accurate and affordable services to clients throughout the world. We transcribe TV programmes and are currently looking for an experienced audio typist / transcriber to offer us transcription services on a freelance/work from home basis.

As an established audio typist/transcriber you will need to have:

  • Audio typing experience
  • A minimum typing speed of 80wpm
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • An excellent command of oral and the written English language
  • Good knowledge of current affairs
  • Ability to work to deadlines and understand the importance of doing so
  • A minimum of 20 hours available per week
  • Good IT skills

This freelance audio typist / transcriber opportunity provides an enjoyable, flexible way to work from home, typing a variety of interesting audio material. Fully supported remote familiarisation of our job specifications will be given.

REMOTE – German Language Transcriber

Position Summary:

Transcribe audio to help build state of the art AI-powered speech recognition models!

As a German Language Transcriber your task will be to produce highly accurate transcriptions of call-center speech combined with annotation mark-up. We will provide you with Guidelines for how to transcribe and annotate the audio. The data will be used to develop better AI-powered speech recognition for German.

This is a zero hour contract, for 6 months with opportunity to extend.


Responsibilities

Ability to accurately transcribe audios in German language in accordance with the project’s set guidelines.

Requirements

  • Available approximately 20-30 hours per week
  • Stable internet connection
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to review examples and apply rules to data
  • Familiarity with spelling conventions in German language
  • Native/bilingual/near-native knowledge of German language
  • Comfortable/familiar with accented varieties of German is a plus
  • Good reading comprehension skills in English
  • Prior experience with transcription beneficial but not compulsory
  • Successful completion of our qualification process:
    • Assess the accuracy of your spelling: You will need to pass the German language certification quiz with a score of at least 85%. You have 2 attempts to pass the Quiz.
    • Typing Speed Assessment: You will need to complete a typing speed assessment and complete a survey with your results. We are looking for transcribers with a typing speed of approximately 40 words per minute or higher with 85% accuracy.

STROKE And Neurology Transcriber

The Neurology Department has a 15 hours a week Transcriber vacancy. The post holder will be responsible for making an active contribution to the transcribing of clinics within the Neurology Department.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and ‘At Risk’ status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

The Neurology department at Derriford Hospital is the largest neurology unit in the peninsula. We offer a 24-hour on call and inpatient service so we can ensure all patients admitted with a neurological condition are assessed by a consultant neurologist.

We provide the largest range of sub-speciality clinics in the peninsula and are part of a Neuroscience Centre at Derriford, offering a wide range of tertiary services to support other hospitals in the region. Clinical care is complemented by an active research programme both in laboratory based neurosciences and in clinical trials of new treatments. The department works closely with the regional neurosurgical, neuro-radiology and neuro-oncology services which are also based at Derriford. This helps us provide integrated care.

The post is interesting and varied and requires the ability to work as a member of a team. You must demonstrate effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, work methodically under pressure, have the ability to work using your own initiative, plus the ability to work as a member of a team.
