A musical organized by the Commune and the French embassy in Andorra
The musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer will premiere on Saturday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the renovated Prat del Roure hall. This show is organized and financed by the municipality of Escaldes-Engordany and the French embassy in Andorra. It was also explained by the Consul Major from Escaldes, Rosa Gili, in the presentation of the musical that took place in the common of Escaldes-Engordany. During the event, she was accompanied by the ambassador of France in Andorra, Jean-Claude Tribolet and the Minister of Cultural Life, Valentí Closa.
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a show in French aimed at a family audience. “It’s a good opportunity to enjoy up close a high-level proposal that has already been seen in the great theaters of Paris,” explained Gili. For his part, Tribolet emphasized that he hopes this proposal will be very successful. The ambassador added that “the show ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ has received very good reviews in France and that, even, the comedy itself has been performed at the Mogador Theatre, one of the great musical theatres”.
Gili emphasized the importance of having shows in French to bring French culture closer to the country’s public and to maintain the balance between Spain and France. The fact that this show is also aimed at children is so that they “have the opportunity to hear and touch French culture”, said the senior consul. In the end, it is a way of introducing a new language from a very young age and from the culture.

The Consul Major commented that “it will be an important event. It will allow us to launch the new Prat del Roure room.” Remodeling works have been carried out in this space because “water was coming in and it had damaged the Prat del Roure facilities. The maintenance works that were needed after so many years were carried out”, specified Gili. The Spaniard was pleased to be able to reopen the hall with a show like this.
