“Given the situation the bus company is experiencing, it has been decided to subrogate the two contracts for the international transport of passengers with the lines to La Seu d’Urgell and Lleida to the Spanish company”. This was stated yesterday by the Minister of Finance and Acting Spokesperson, Cesar Marquina. Therefore, the shutdown of Montmantell will not have any impact on the users of the service. Regarding the three school transport lines it managed, the executive has also decided to distribute them among the companies that manage the service.

Marquina also explained that the termination of the service or the bankruptcy of the company was “overnight” and it is for this reason that the Government has opted for subrogation to prevent users from who use the service are harmed by the situation. Regarding the aspects that have led Montmantell to make the decision, the minister indicated that they do not have specific data.

Asked about the procedures and licenses that Hife needs to operate in Andorra, Marquina mentioned that approval is required from both the Principality and Spain. In the first, the executive decided to subrogate the service so as not to interfere with the operation, while the second remains operational “until they make a decision”.
